Resident Care Assistant

REPORTS TO

Resident Care Supervisor Non-Exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary purpose of all staff is to create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout each section and all shifts. To also provide care to residents with respect to the compliance with our rules of conduct, employment policies, and in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation that govern the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times. RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide assistance with the day-to-day functions of the Residents in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Personal Care Facility. Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, residents, families, visitors and government agencies as required. Maintain established resident care objectives and standards. Assist with medication administration and documentation per facility policy. Review treatment sheets daily and report any changes to the Resident Care Manager/House Manager. Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician's orders, diet change, charting error, etc., to the resident Care Manager/Resident House Manager. Assist residents with medication administration under the established procedures for assisting residents with medications.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Must have High School Diploma or its equivalent. No experience required, but experience working in a long-term care setting is preferred. On the job, training will be provided.
