Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies Monitor residents' vital signs, health status, and response to medications, documenting all observations meticulously in medical records Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, mobility support, and feeding, including specialized care like tube feeding and dementia care Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect resident confidentiality and ensure compliance with all legal requirements Support residents with activities of daily living while fostering independence and dignity Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care Use electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medication administration and patient information Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation is highly valued Certification as a Medication Aide from the State Board of Nursing or equivalent licensing authority Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and hospice support techniques Excellent communication skills for caregiving interactions and caregiver communication protocols Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently; additional certifications in basic life support are preferred Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict resident confidentiality at all times Experience working within state healthcare regulations and senior living facility standards Embark on a rewarding career where your compassionate caregiving makes a meaningful difference.
