Full Job Description Job Summary:

The med manager shall be delegated to assist residents in all aspects of their daily living tasks including medication administration, from the Delegating Nurse.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Current CNA certificate preferred Maintain current Dementia-Specific education Maintain current Dependent Adult Abuse education CMA applicants will need to have a Medication Manager or Certified Medication Aide Previous experience with dementia specific care preferred

Essential Functions:

Provide direct resident care functions and assist, as needed, with activities of daily living, to include but not limited to toileting, ensuring proper hygiene, transferring, changing incontinent aids. Advise RN of resident health changes as appropriate. Follow all state, county and federal regulations. Complete necessary paperwork and participate in care plan review process. Take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, weight, and oxygen sat), and record them as needed. Assist in dining room at all mealtimes. Monitor residents during lunch. Perform laundry tasks for residents and clean up if needed. Assists with activities when needed. Work with a cooperative and team spirit. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability. Participate in mandatory educational training, including but not limited to dementia, food service and safety, emergency procedures, blood borne pathogens, and adult abuse. Attend all classes and facility meetings as scheduled. Identify safety hazards & emergencies and report to RN and/or Director immediately. Report any concerns or suspicions of abuse to RN and/or Director immediately. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the RN. Stressful situations will be encountered. May encounter sudden behavioral changes and/or actions of the participants that may require non-violent staff intervention and redirection to manage behavior or physical actions. Exposure to chemicals or substances typical of a health care facility, such as cleaning supplies, sanitizers, etc., may be encountered. A CMA performs all CNA functions and in addition are the lead on their shift. They provide all aspects of medication administration to include administration, ordering and storage of medications. Perform Narcotic count between shifts for accuracy. The CMA is able to perform first aid and simple wound care.
