Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our healthcare team. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely to residents or patients in compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies. Monitor and document residents' vital signs, medication effects, and overall health status using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with personal care activities including hygiene, mobility, feeding, and other activities of daily living for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments. Maintain detailed medical documentation while ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Support residents with tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized medical procedures following proper protocols. Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations and safety standards through diligent manual handling and heavy lifting techniques when necessary. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote a caring environment that respects dignity and promotes well-being. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) or equivalent credential recognized by the State Board of Nursing. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care practices including dementia and memory care. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality standards, and state healthcare laws governing medication administration. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques; experience working with geriatric patients is essential. Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication tailored to individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Knowledge of basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid procedures, and hospice or palliative care principles is desirable.
