Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Monitor and document vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with daily activities including bathing, dressing, mobility support, and feeding for individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments. Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical records management. Support residents with specialized care needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Collaborate closely with nursing staff to assess patient conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly. Uphold safety standards by practicing proper infection control procedures and adhering to all healthcare regulations. Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide recognized by state licensing boards. Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred. Familiarity with caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or disabilities; experience in hospice or memory care is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting residents and supporting mobility needs safely.
