Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Technician / Resident Assistant to join our vibrant senior living community. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality. Assist residents with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and hygiene routines. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, employing specialized techniques to ensure safety and comfort. Document medical records meticulously, including medication administration logs, care notes, and incident reports in compliance with medical documentation standards. Provide compassionate support during tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff. Respond promptly to emergency situations by performing first aid or CPR when necessary while adhering to safety protocols such as manual handling and heavy lifting procedures. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care plans that meet individual needs for senior care, hospice support, or home & community care services. Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior living regulations such as HIPAA and state healthcare standards. Proven ability to work with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities including developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient information. Experience providing resident personal care assistance while maintaining professionalism and excellent caregiver communication skills. Knowledge of hospice care practices and memory care techniques is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers; understanding of manual handling protocols is essential.
