Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state healthcare regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and facility policies Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to nursing staff or healthcare providers Assist residents with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and hygiene to promote comfort and well-being Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medication records, treatment notes, and medical terminology entries using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or similar platforms Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, tube feeding, catheter care, and hospice or palliative care services Ensure compliance with safety protocols during manual handling tasks and heavy lifting while caring for geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and uphold resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Technician (state-specific certification required) in good standing with the State Board of Nursing or relevant licensing authority Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or community/home care environments Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices including dementia and memory care techniques Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or EHR platforms for accurate medical documentation Ability to perform first aid and CPR certification; knowledge of basic life support procedures is essential Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or palliative support is highly desirable Strong caregiving skills coupled with excellent communication abilities to foster trust and clarity among residents and team members Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks necessary for resident assistance; adherence to safety standards is critical Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality while complying with all federal and state healthcare regulations including HIPAA Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly enhance the quality of life for those in your care.
