Job Description

Americare Senior Living seeks a Certified Medication Technician to support residents in our senior living community. In this role, you will safely prepare, administer, and document medications, monitor residents for side effects, and promptly report changes to nursing staff. You'll assist with daily living needs, vital signs, and comfort measures while following care plans and safety protocols. Working closely with nurses, caregivers, residents, and families, you'll help create a respectful, homelike environment centered on dignity, empathy, and personalized senior care. Responsibilities Administer oral, topical, and other prescribed medications safely and accurately Document all medication administration in compliance with regulations and facility policies Observe and report resident condition changes, side effects, or medication issues to nursing staff Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed, promoting independence and dignity Monitor vital signs and follow care plans under nurse direction Maintain medication carts, supplies, and secure storage in a clean, organized manner Follow infection control, safety, and fall prevention protocols at all times Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to support care goals Participate in shift reports, training, and quality improvement activities Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and Americare's resident-centered values Required Skills Medication administration Medication documentation (e MAR/med records) Vital signs monitoring Infection control practices Basic patient assessment Fall prevention and safety Electronic health records familiarity Time management Team collaboration Communication with residents and families
