IMS Correctional Healthcare Overview:

This position is Full Time rotating 12 hour shifts IMS Correctional Healthcare, LLC ("IMS") is a correctional healthcare services company focused on providing medical care services to county and municipal correctional facilities in North Carolina. IMS serves county correctional facilities that typically range from 100 - 1,000 bed capacity and differentiates itself based on its level of customer service, quality care, clinical outcomes and overall operational transparency to the customers it serves.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

IMS is seeking a Medical Technician

• to join its healthcare team at the New Hanover, NC Jail, located at 3950 Juvenile Center Road, Castle Haynes, NC 28429, and assist the supervising physician in providing care to inmates. The Medical Technician will be responsible for the following: Promote a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical and tactful manner. Conduct, attitude, and demeanor are to always be professional and demonstrate compassion and concern for every inmate. Additionally, all communications with correctional staff are to be professional. Prepare and administer prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of the RN. Reconcile daily drugs received from pharmacy against order forms, and ensure organization in the appropriate storage area. Document administration of medication on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and file as applicable. Ensure the pharmacy is notified of any inmate transfers or releases.

• Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations regarding the administration and documentation of narcotic medications. Follow and uphold proper protocols, procedures, and security measures laid forth by correctional staff at all times in the workplace. This includes meeting cleanliness standards for the unit. Other related duties as recommended by the supervising RN or supervising physician.

Education & Certifications:

High school graduate or equivalent Completion of an accredited Certified Medication Aide Course or training course for nursing assistants

Experience :

Prior emergency or correctional/detention facility experience preferred but not required

Compensation:

$18 - $19/hour Hourly wage rate to be commensurate with experience Health and retirement benefits provided

•IMS will also consider Certified Nursing Assistants for this role. Certified Nursing Assistants applying will be trained in order to receive Certified Medical Technician status.
