Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support while maintaining dignity and respect. Administer prescribed medications following strict protocols and document all medication activities accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any abnormalities promptly. Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or memory care activities tailored for dementia or Alzheimer's patients. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records with care. Provide compassionate support during emergencies by performing first aid or CPR when necessary and following state healthcare regulations. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive resident care plans are executed seamlessly. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and senior care practices. Hands-on experience with medication administration, medical documentation, and use of EMR/EHR systems like Cerner is advantageous. Familiarity with dementia care, memory support techniques, and hospice or palliative care practices is a plus. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safety standards for both residents and staff. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are desirable. Knowledge of state Board of Nursing regulations and healthcare laws ensures compliance in all caregiving activities.
