Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team at Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, including preparing, administering, and documenting medications. You will also be responsible for ensuring that medications are only administered with a valid written order from a licensed physician and confirming resident identity prior to administering medication.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications accurately and safely Ensure medications are only administered with a valid written order from a licensed physician Confirm resident identity prior to administering medication Observe and verify that medications are ingested or applied as directed Document refusals or issues with medication administration Assist with medication charting and inventory management Order medications and supplies in accordance with facility procedures Maintain accurate narcotic records and report discrepancies immediately Adhere to all facility policies regarding medication handling, storage, and destruction Support the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse with delegated tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Current and active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in North Carolina Active CPR certification Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality and resident care Customer service orientation and ability to perform under pressure
