Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist, where your energetic and positive attitude will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, facilitate seamless client communication, and support veterinary staff with administrative tasks. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a welcoming environment that promotes exceptional pet care and client satisfaction. Duties Greet clients warmly, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments efficiently using veterinary software. Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle medical collections with accuracy and professionalism. Assist with animal handling and restraint during check-in, check-out, or minor procedures, ensuring safety for pets and staff. Support veterinary team with administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records, updating client information, and managing laboratory documentation. Coordinate kennel care and animal husbandry activities, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals' condition. Facilitate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding treatment plans, surgery schedules, or medication instructions. Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to medication handling and record keeping. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred; familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of veterinary software systems such as Cornerstone and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with animal restraint techniques, dog handling, equine experience, or kennel duties is a plus. Understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical-surgical protocols related to companion animal medicine. Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint methods; knowledge of animal anatomy is advantageous.
