Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all state healthcare regulations and facility protocols. Monitor residents' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status, reporting any concerns promptly. Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards. Assist residents with personal care tasks including hygiene, mobility, tube feeding, catheter care, and memory or dementia care. Support residents during activities of daily living (ADLs), providing compassionate care tailored to individual needs. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to coordinate resident care plans and medication schedules. Follow proper manual handling procedures during resident transfers and heavy lifting to ensure safety for both residents and staff. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior or geriatric patient care practices. Certification or training in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are advantageous. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is a plus. Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks in accordance with safety standards. Strong communication skills for effective caregiver communication and resident interaction. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. Knowledge of medication administration procedures including tube feeding and Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care practices. Compliance with state Board of Nursing requirements or relevant healthcare licensing standards. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring hospice or acute care is beneficial.
