Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration and provide essential personal care to residents in a senior living or healthcare facility. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols Observe and document residents' responses to medications and report any adverse effects promptly Assist residents with daily personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or memory care routines Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, families, and other caregivers to coordinate resident care plans Follow all safety protocols including manual handling procedures, first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures Assist with resident transfers and heavy lifting tasks while adhering to proper body mechanics and safety standards Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with state healthcare regulations and facility policies Experience Prior assisted living or senior care experience preferred; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in hospice care is a plus Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures Experience working within nursing homes or hospital settings highly desirable Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent from the State Board of Nursing required; valid CPR and First Aid certifications essential Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities for effective caregiver-client interactions Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining resident dignity and comfort Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times Join us if you're passionate about providing compassionate senior care through expert medication management and personal support!
