Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our healthcare team. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines. Monitor and document patient vital signs, responses to medication, and overall health status using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with activities of daily living, including tube feeding, catheter care, and mobility assistance through manual handling techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards for all records. Support patients with memory care needs, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and other specialized senior or hospice care requirements. Follow protocols for patient safety including first aid, basic life support (BLS), CPR certification, and emergency response procedures. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans while respecting HIPAA privacy standards. Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Technician from the State Board of Nursing or equivalent licensing authority. Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical records management systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA and state healthcare laws. Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or special needs such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks related to patient mobility and manual handling procedures.
