Pharmacy Technician - Medication Authorization Specialist - Remote Eligible (Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Arizona ONLY) Overview At St. Luke's, our Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in delivering outstanding, patient-focused care. St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a Medication Authorization Specialist. These roles support patients in accessing and affording critical medications, whether through financial assistance programs or insurance prior authorizations. As part of a collaborative team, you'll work closely with providers, payers, and internal departments to remove barriers to medication access. Depending on the role, you may be based on-site or work remotely. Medication Authorization Specialist (Remote Eligible) This remote-eligible position supports providers in navigating insurance prior authorization processes for outpatient medications covered under the pharmacy benefit. You'll work behind the scenes to ensure timely access to treatment by managing payer requirements, clinical documentation and coordination with dispensing pharmacies. On-site training is required for the first 3 months of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate insurancepriorauthorizations foroutpatient medications covered underthe pharmacy benefit.
  • Communicate with providers and payers to resolve authorization issues.
  • Track and follow up on pending authorizations.
  • Ensure compliance withpayguidelines and documentation standards.

Monday-Friday Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Why St.
