  • Full-time StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full-time Medication Resources Technician to join its outstanding Outpatient Clinic staff supporting people with mental illness at the Sunrise Canyon Behavioral Health Complex.
The Medication Resources Technician coordinates and manages the on-site storage and distribution of medications for patients enrolled in StarCare's Pharmacy Benefits Program, while assisting patients with refill requests and ensuring timely prescription processing. Collaborates with Outpatient Clinic nursing staff to address pharmacy-related needs, supports licensed providers with medication refills and consent documentation, and serves as a liaison between providers and patients to promote clear communication. Communicates important updates to team members and maintains accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with clinic and organizational policies.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate, organize, and oversee the on-site storage, inventory, and distribution of medications for patients enrolled in StarCare's Pharmacy Benefits Program, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and safety standards. Support patients through the medication refill process by managing refill line inquiries, providing timely assistance, and facilitating accurate prescription processing. Collaborate with Outpatient Clinic nursing staff by addressing pharmacy-related requests and responding to medication-related inquiries in a prompt and professional manner. Assist licensed nurses and providers with medication refills and consent documentation, serving as a liaison between healthcare providers and patients to ensure clear communication and continuity of care. Effectively communicate medication changes, updates, and relevant information to appropriate team members to support coordinated patient care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Outpatient Clinic and organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours. Ensure all required training and credentials are current and compliant with Center, federal, state, and local regulations, in addition to StarCare policies and procedures. Complete special departmental projects and other responsibilities with similar skill and work conditions as assigned. Support all activities in alignment with StarCare's mission, values, and operational goals.
Schedule:
This is a full-time, on-site, position scheduled Monday
  • Thursday, 8:30am
  • 5:30pm, Friday 8am
  • 5pm with flexibility to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in a related mental health field, medical setting, or pharmacy environment required. Certification as a Medication Technician from an accredited program preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in operating standard office equipment, including phone systems, copiers, and fax machines. Must have a current Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Center's insurance. Must pass all pre-employment and annual screenings, including drug screen, criminal background, nursing registry, and MVR.
