A Medication Aide or Technician provides medication to patients in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. This role provides one pathway into licensed nursing training. May help measure and record vital signs, and assist in activities of daily living (ADLS).

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing. Previous patient care experience preferred. Current certification for Medication Aide.
CLINICAL
Participate ni Shift Report. Perform routine patient care in accordance with Federal, State, Company and Center nursing policies and procedures. Employs preventative and restorative measures. Follows hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during the performance of patient care.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Reports promptly any change of patient condition or other concerns to Patient Care Supervisor. Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation. Reports medication reorder, etc. Participates in all assigned meetings. Participates in all training, education or in-service as required. Inventory drugs, on the designated forms, as they arrive.
