Job Title:
Certified Medication Aide • Reports to: Charge Nurse •
Job Purpose:
Administer prescribed medications and carry out the duties under supervision of a licensed nurse and assist nurses in providing safe and ethical care in an 84 bed licensed nursing facility. • Responsible for supporting and providing direction to their team of CNA's, and providing care to Residents with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Duties include helping feeding Residents taking their vital signs and notifying charge nurses of any changes. •
Duties and Responsibilities:
Giving scheduled medications under direct supervision of a nurse Maintain clean work space. (Medroom and Med Cart) Help Residents with personal hygiene and care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, and bowel and bladder care Take and record Residents vital signs and weight Observe and record Residents' conditions, food and liquid intake and other behavior, and report changes to supervisor Make beds, and maintain clean and safe environments for Residents Lift, transport, and move Residents using the appropriate techniques Treat all Residents, family, and other visitors with respect, and engage with them in a tactful manner at all times Comply with all safety and health regulations May have to help out on floor occasionally. Any other requirements deemed necessary by Administration •
Qualifications:
Certified Medication Aide Certification High school diploma or equivalent Presentation of positive, professional appearance Adherence to SAHR Mission and Values •
Working Conditions:
This is an active job, and you will spend most of your day on your feet working with your hands. Working 12 hour shifts (2 on 2 off 3 on 2 off)) 0600 to 1800. •
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50+ pounds. Working inside for extended periods •
