As a Medication Supervisor, you will oversee medication distribution, maintain accurate medical documentation, and collaborate closely with nursing staff to promote optimal health outcomes for residents with diverse needs, including those requiring dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care. Your expertise will help create a safe, compassionate environment where residents feel valued and cared for every day. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate medication administration procedures in compliance with state healthcare regulations and HIPAA confidentiality standards. Ensure accurate medication dispensing using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms. Train and support caregiving staff on proper medication handling, tube feeding, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring. Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation of medication logs, medical terminology entries, and resident care notes. Conduct regular audits to verify medication stock levels, expiration dates, and proper storage conditions. Collaborate with nursing professionals to develop individualized care plans that incorporate memory care, dementia care, and physiology knowledge. Assist with resident personal care tasks such as mobility support, heavy lifting, and manual handling while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Requirements Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with geriatric patients. Knowledge of senior care practices including Alzheimer's disease management, dementia care, hospice support, and medical documentation standards. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to elderly patients; experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks related to resident mobility assistance. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.
