Job Description
Job Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), where your expertise will directly enhance the quality of life for our residents and patients. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor patient health, and provide compassionate care within a variety of settings including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure safe medication management and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all state healthcare regulations and medical documentation protocols Monitor vital signs, observe for adverse reactions, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff or physicians Assist with activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility, and feeding, including specialized tasks like tube feeding and catheter care Requirements Valid certification as a Medication Aide recognized by the State Board of Nursing or relevant licensing authority Proven experience working with geriatric patients in settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices related to senior care and hospice services Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while adhering to OSHA guidelines Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing medication administration and patient privacy Excellent communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments including Alzheimer's and dementia care Certifications in first aid, CPR, BLS preferred; additional skills in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in memory care are a plus Join us in delivering exceptional medication management and compassionate care that truly makes a difference.
