Small Residential Assisted Living Home | 5-6 Residents About the Role We are looking for a dependable, compassionate Virginia Registered Medication Aide (RMA) to join our team in a small, home-like assisted living setting. This is a unique position for someone who enjoys truly getting to know the residents they care for. With only 5-6 residents, our team is able to provide personalized care in a calm, comfortable environment rather than working in a large institutional setting.

Please note:

This is not a medication-only position. Because we are a small residential assisted living home, our RMA is also an active caregiver. In addition to administering medications, you will assist with resident care, meals, activities, light housekeeping, and the everyday needs of the home. We offer a supportive work environment with hands-on, accessible leadership and are looking for someone who wants to become a consistent and valued part of our team. Responsibilities Safely administer medications according to physician orders and facility policies Accurately document medication administration in the eMAR/MAR Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in condition Communicate medication or resident concerns promptly to the Executive Director and appropriate healthcare providers Assist with pharmacy refills, medication deliveries, and medication organization Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed Assist residents with toileting, dressing, grooming, mobility, and other personal care needs Prepare and serve simple meals and snacks Engage residents in conversation, activities, games, and daily routines Perform light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and sanitation tasks Help maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and welcoming home Provide companionship and attentive supervision Work collaboratively with other caregivers and leadership What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who understands that in a small assisted living home, everyone works together. The ideal candidate is comfortable passing medications one moment, helping a resident with personal care the next, preparing dinner, doing dishes, or sitting down to play a game with residents. You may be a great fit if you are: Compassionate and patient with older adults Dependable and punctual Detail-oriented with medications and documentation Comfortable providing hands-on personal care Willing to help wherever needed Able to work independently while communicating well with the team Warm, friendly, and able to build relationships with residents Someone who takes pride in creating a clean, comfortable home environment Qualifications Current Virginia Registered Medication Aide (RMA) registration/certification required Current CPR/First Aid certification Experience working with older adults preferred Assisted living or dementia care experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to reliably work the scheduled 12:00 PM-8:00 PM shift, 5 days per week Why Join Us?
