Responsibilities Assist residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support for geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in medical records or electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, tube feeding, catheter care, and hospice support. Maintain thorough medical documentation and ensure confidentiality of all patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting with heavy lifting or transfers to prevent injury. Communicate effectively with team members regarding patient status updates and care plans to ensure seamless caregiving delivery. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (CPR) or first aid certification required. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous; experience with medical documentation is essential. Ability to work with geriatric patients and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments like Alzheimer's disease. Strong understanding of state Board of Nursing regulations and adherence to HIPAA guidelines for maintaining patient confidentiality. Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks necessary for resident personal care assistance. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and provide compassionate resident support.
