Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Medication Administration:
- Administer oral and topical medications as prescribed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Ensure the correct medication, dosage, and time are administered.
- Document medication administration accurately, including dosage, time, and resident response.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
- Report any adverse reactions or side effects to the supervising nurse.
Basic Nursing Care:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the supervising nurse.
- Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
Resident Care and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents.
- Answer residents' call lights and respond to their needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Follow established healthcare standards and practices.
Communication and Documentation:
- Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff.
- Document resident care and medication administration accurately and thoroughly.
- Report any changes in resident condition or concerns to the supervising nurse.
Other Duties:
- May assist with other nursing tasks as assigned by the supervising nurse.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information. Requirements and Qualifications
- Licensed Certified Medication Aide in the State this position is held in.
- Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
- Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.
- Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
