Responsibilities Assist clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being through attentive supervision and support. Implement behavioral intervention strategies, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), to promote positive behaviors and skill development. Conduct intake assessments and maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Monitor vital signs, administer medication as prescribed, and respond promptly to medical emergencies using first aid and CPR skills. Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques to effectively handle behavioral or emotional crises in a calm and professional manner. Support clients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), neurodevelopmental disorders, and disabilities through tailored behavior management plans and client communication strategies. Collect data on client progress, document behavioral changes, and contribute to ongoing treatment planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Experience Prior experience working with children, youth, or adults with developmental disabilities or neurodiverse conditions such as autism spectrum disorder. Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and behavioral health care practices, including crisis intervention and PTSD care. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or addiction counseling background is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR platforms. Strong skills in behavior intervention techniques, social work principles, and client communication are essential. Ability to perform de-escalation techniques effectively in high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in crisis management or applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a plus.
