Full Job Description Job Description:
The CMHC Assistant supports the daily operations of the Community Mental Health Center by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while assisting patients and staff with non-clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, set up, and serve breakfast and lunch for patients.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, dining area, restrooms, activity rooms, and other common areas.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including the surrounding outdoor areas and entrances.
  • Assist patients with mobility and escort them to and from the restroom when needed.
  • Welcome patients upon arrival and assist with check-in and orientation.
  • Help patients safely enter and exit vehicles during pick-up and drop-off.
  • Assist with weekly shopping for food, beverages, drinking water, and other center supplies.
  • Organize, stock, and monitor kitchen and program supplies.
  • Set up and clean activity rooms before and after groups.
  • Assist staff during recreational and educational activities as directed.
  • Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, or patient needs to the Administrator.
  • Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (required).
  • Responsible, reliable, punctual, and compassionate.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 30-40 lbs.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, adult day program, or similar setting is preferred, but not required.
