A Mental Health Assistant provides basic care and assistance with daily activities to patients with mental illnesses or cognitive disabilities. Helps patients dress and eat, monitors patients' well-being, and restrains patients if they become physically violent. Works in hospitals or mental health care facilities.
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable , and dedicated 1:1 Behavioral Aide to provide individualized support to neurodivergent children in a learning center environment. Reliability is essential in this role , as students depend on consistent and supportive guidance to thrive in their daily routines. The ideal candidate will work one-on-one with a designated student, ensuring they receive tailored behavioral, academic, and emotional support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one (1:1) support to a neurodivergent student, assisting with learning activities, social interactions, and behavioral regulation. Implement behavior intervention strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to help the student achieve their individual goals. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and follow the student's individualized education plan (IEP) or behavior plan. Monitor and document the student's progress, behavior, and any areas of concern, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents. Assist the student in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies. Ensure the student is engaged, supported, and able to participate fully in classroom activities. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality , as your reliability directly impacts the student's success and progress. Create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that accommodates the student's unique learning style and needs.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or experience with Collaborative proactive Solutions, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Preferred:
Experience working with neurodivergent children, particularly those with autism, ADHD, or other developmental differences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children of diverse needs. Reliability and consistency are non-negotiable for this role, as students require dependable support to achieve their goals. Must pass a background check prior to employment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in working with students and families.
Additional Information:
This position involves working one-on-one with a single student, ensuring dedicated and personalized support.
