THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION

Job description: Exciting opportunity for a licensed or registered associate LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC (ASW, AMFT, or APCC) to provide strengths-based, trauma-informed care as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a locked inpatient setting at the intersection of the mental health and judicial systems. Our facility is located in beautiful residential Novato and serves as a transitional step between a higher level of care (state hospital, acute care, 5150, etc.) and outpatient treatment in the community for adults with major mental illnesses, oftentimes with cooccurring substance use disorders. We rely heavily, although not exclusively, on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to provide both group and individual therapy services, and to maintain a therapeutic milieu. Our current need is for one regular part-time (~30 hours/week) licensed or associate clinician, whose duties would include, but not be limited to, providing weekly individual therapy to a caseload of 6 clients, facilitating or co-facilitating 4 groups per week, and documenting those services in an accurate and timely fashion. Strong written communication skills are required for the development of individualized service plans and for making well-reasoned recommendations to the courts regarding clients' progress and readiness for discharge. The schedule for this role can be flexible based on your needs, including an option to transition to 10-hour shifts after an initial introductory period Suitable candidates

MUST:

Possess a master's degree in psychology, social work, or a closely related field. Be a licensed LCSW, LMFT or LPCC through California's Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Registered associates (ASW, AMFT, or APCC) meet the requirements for this position. Demonstrate knowledge of major mental Illnesses and their impact on perception, thinking, judgment and behavior. Verifiable experience working with persons with Major Mental Illness is strongly preferred. Experience working in a Forensic or Correctional setting is desirable. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writing sample may be required.

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in a minimum of eight (8) hour day for two-to-three-hour increments.
• Must be able to move about the facility , into the community, and or business-related trips. Must be able to get in and out of vehicles and tolerate one to two hours of driving.
• Must have the physical and cognitive ability to assist in emergency situations such as pushing a wheelchair or bed, or appropriately intervening with persons served who may physically and/or verbally act out and require hands on assistance.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Pay:

$43.00 - $45.15 per hour
