Pay:

You will be an active, visible presence in the home and help residents translate recovery goals into daily action by supporting structure, routines, appointments, life skills, household responsibilities, employment or education goals, and community participation. Your ability to build relationships, observe behavior, respond calmly to challenges, and encourage progress will help create a safe environment where residents can grow. This is a strong entry-level opportunity for someone with a bachelor's degree who wants to begin working in behavioral health, gain meaningful hands-on experience, or explore a future graduate degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. About The Recovery Collective The Recovery Collective is a supportive recovery residence for adult men who benefit from additional structure, mental health support, accountability, and individualized guidance. Residents may be navigating mental health challenges, substance use recovery, autism spectrum disorder or other neurodevelopmental needs, and major life transitions. Our team helps residents build daily structure, practical skills, community connection, and momentum toward stable, meaningful lives. What you will do
  • Maintain an engaged, supportive presence and help create a welcoming, respectful, and organized home environment.
  • Conduct frequent scheduled and as-needed check-ins with residents to offer support, reinforce daily plans, and identify concerns that should be communicated to the Program Director or care team.
  • Support residents with daily routines, appointments, meals, household responsibilities, life skills, employment or education tasks, and recovery-related goals.
  • Support house activities, resident check-ins, community outings, and practical skill-building.
  • Reinforce house expectations, community agreements, curfews, visitor policies, medication-storage procedures, and established routines consistently and respectfully.
  • Provide non-clinical reminders for residents to take prescribed medications according to their individual self-administration plans and complete required reminder or self-administration documentation. Staff do not administer medication.
  • Observe changes in resident mood, behavior, functioning, or safety; document objective observations and promptly communicate concerns.
  • Use calm de-escalation, crisis-prevention, and positive behavior-support strategies during conflicts, relapse concerns, emotional distress, or other incidents; follow emergency procedures when required.
  • Complete timely shift notes, incident reports, behavioral observations, assigned logs, transportation records, and shift handoffs in the electronic health record while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Help residents follow individualized goals and support plans within the role and training; report progress, barriers, and emerging needs to the Program Director.
  • Assist with resident orientation and collection of non-clinical intake information when assigned.
  • Collaborate with coaches, the Program Director, therapists, psychiatrists, social workers, family members, and other authorized providers to support consistent follow-through and coordinated care.
  • Transport residents to appointments, meetings, errands, work, school, or community activities when assigned and authorized.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, supply organization, meal support, safety checks, and maintaining clean shared spaces. Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral science, human services, or a related field.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Calm, respectful, and effective communication during conflict, emotional distress, or unexpected situations.
  • Strong observation, documentation, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Reliable judgment and the ability to follow policies, safety procedures, and escalation protocols.
  • Working knowledge of mental health support, trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and positive behavior-support practices.
  • Ability to collect objective behavioral information, write clear progress notes, and maintain accurate electronic health records in accordance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for resident engagement, shift handoffs, and collaboration with team members, families, and outside providers as authorized.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification and Narcan training, or willingness to complete required training promptly after hire.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance when driving is part of an assigned shift.
  • Ability to pass required background and employment screening. Helpful experience
  • Behavioral health, mental health, substance use recovery, sober living, residential care, case management, or another human-services setting.
  • Supporting adults with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or other neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Internship, volunteer, peer-support, research, or campus leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use needs.
  • Familiarity with PTSD-informed, person-centered, recovery-oriented, and positive behavior-support approaches.
Prior professional experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone dependable, grounded, curious, and ready to learn. Schedule and work expectations Applicants must be available for an assigned 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. day shift or 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. evening shift, including some weekends and holidays. Schedules may vary based on resident needs and house occupancy. Team members working 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for benefits according to current company policy and applicable law. This is a non-clinical support position. Employees do not provide therapy, diagnose conditions, administer medication, perform medical assessments, or independently develop clinical treatment plans. Team members must maintain resident confidentiality, professional boundaries, accurate documentation, and consistent communication with the Program Director and care team. Required staff meetings, supervision, case consultation, and training are part of the role. Why join TRC Join an experienced behavioral-health and therapeutic-coaching team while gaining direct experience in a real-world recovery environment.
