Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut's leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offer a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Through our multi-site network of care, we constantly strive to meet its mission in helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery. Program Summary Natchaug Hospital's Journey House program is a specialized residential treatment facility on the Mansfield campus for adolescent girls with identified needs for behavioral health services who admitted through a referral from the juvenile justice system. Journey House offers a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities that are carried out in individual, group and family settings. Residents and the treatment team collaborate on discharge planning, which includes coordination of individual and family therapy, medication management, identification of a primary care physician and any vocational, recreational or educational planning. Job Summary Administrative Associate II provides a full range of varied, multi-skilled secretarial, clerical, and administrative support under general direction that requires creativity, and independent, discretionary judgment, and confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customer are met. Documentation in EPIC or other hospital computer programs.
Key areas of responsibility:
Provide efficient, accurate, and timely administrative support through the preparation of a variety of reports and correspondence. Perform varied data entry into established spreadsheets and databases, may modify spreadsheets and databases based upon existing formats with approval. Ensures the validity and of data and outputs, and reconciles differences. Uses information to produce reports. Completes and maintains standard records/forms/logs according to detailed procedures. Maintains appointment calendar and schedules appointments. Contribute to the successful operation of the department by providing clerical support under general direction such as: maintaining unit files in a complete, accurate, and timely fashion in accordance with the standards of the work area, suggesting changes to system to meet changing needs. Responds to questions and requests for information, and resolves problems by gathering information and using thorough knowledge and understanding of own work area and others. Handle inquiries directly or forward to appropriate person. Initiate communications regarding assigned responsibilities and other routine matters. Knows when to refer to a higher authority. Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age-specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents) Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional education preferred One to Two years previous administrative support experience Working knowledge of EPIC preferred Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information Advanced computer skills related to office applications, email, internet and hospital computer programs Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times We take great care of careers.
