Ideal Qualifications:

Valid Connecticut Paraprofessional Certification (CT Para Cert) required Experience or strong desire to work with children on the autism spectrum Comfortable supporting students with personal care needs, including toileting Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with teachers and staff Eagerness to foster independence, socialization, and learning in a classroom setting

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students in self-contained K-1 and 2-3 ASD classrooms Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Support classroom routines, academic activities, and behavioral interventions Foster a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all students Engage in positive reinforcement techniques and adaptive strategies Participate actively in team meetings and professional development sessions
