Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation Support clients during community outings, appointments, and recreational activities using personal transportation assistance Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, ensuring positive reinforcement and safety Collect data on client progress, behaviors, and goals to inform care plans and support team collaboration Communicate effectively with clients using various methods, including American Sign Language if applicable, to promote understanding and engagement Monitor client safety at all times, responding promptly to any emergencies or behavioral challenges with first aid and CPR skills when necessary Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support aligned with each client's goals Skills Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques Proficiency in American Sign Language or other communication methods for diverse client needs Background in behavioral health or home & community care environments Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for client transportation purposes Strong caregiving skills with a focus on supporting clients' independence and well-being Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation of progress First aid and CPR certification to ensure safety during all activities Experience working with clients who have cognitive disabilities or intellectual disabilities support needs Capable of assisting clients with ADLs such as dressing, feeding, mobility, and personal care tasks Familiarity with data collection methods to track client progress accurately This role is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to grow their expertise in social services, behavioral health, or special education fields.
