Position Description The Counseling and Psychological Services ( CPS) Department seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Human Development beginning in August, 2027. The primary responsibility of this position will be to teach core and specialty graduate-level counseling courses, including clinical supervision, in our CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. The successful candidate may also teach graduate students from our other CACREP (e.g., clinical rehabilitation, school, counselor education), APA, and NASP accredited programs. Presence on campus for face-to-face teaching, supervision, and mentoring is an essential component of the position. Additional responsibilities include advising graduate students (master's and doctoral level), and service to the program, department, college, university, and the profession. Required Experience Required Education Have an earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program Preferred Qualifications/Experience Be licensed (or license-eligible) in the State of Georgia as a professional counselor Have paid clinical experience as a clinical mental health counselor Have the Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) or the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credentials Experience with or specialty in clinical supervision and teaching effectiveness at the graduate level Experience with or specialty in the areas of ethics, professional counseling practice, group work, or counseling children and adolescents Have interest and ability to take leadership roles in the CMHC program (e.g., practicum/internship coordination or administrative program coordination) in the near future.
