This is a flexible support position that combines hands-on classroom assistance with clerical and daily operational responsibilities. The selected candidate must be comfortable working with children of different ages, providing classroom coverage, helping maintain required staff-to-child ratios, and assisting management with office duties. This individual may also be required to safely transport children in a 15-passenger van when needed. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, able to multitask, and capable of recognizing what needs to be done without constant supervision. Previous childcare and clerical experience are required, and familiarity with Procare is preferred. Responsibilities The responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work associated with this position. - Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks, absences, meetings, and periods of increased enrollment.
- Work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children as assigned.
- Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and supervise children at all times.
- Support teachers with learning activities, classroom routines, meals, diapering, toileting, rest periods, and transitions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Complete accurate attendance records, headcounts, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Assist with Procare entries, child check-in and check-out, and parent communications.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, copying, data entry, and organizing records.
- Greet children, families, visitors, and staff professionally.
- Assist management with daily center operations and administrative tasks.
- Monitor classroom and office supplies and report items that need to be replenished.
- Safely transport children in a 15-passenger van when assigned.
- Follow all transportation procedures, including attendance checks, vehicle inspections, and pre-trip and post-trip child-safety checks.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning children, families, employees, and center operations.
- Follow all center policies, health and safety procedures, and state childcare regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
