AM Pay Range:

$15.00-$18.00 per hour, based on experience Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Mental Health Technician / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Nursing Assistant (NA) to join a small residential behavioral health program in Louisville. This position works directly with individuals experiencing mental health challenges and provides hands-on support in a structured, supportive residential environment. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, dependable, and comfortable assisting clients with daily routines, behavioral support, and maintaining a safe living environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in mental health, social services, residential care, addiction recovery, or direct support who enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of others. Responsibilities Observe and monitor clients throughout the shift for changes in mental, emotional, or physical condition. Assist clients with activities of daily living and other routine needs. Provide meal preparation and nutritional support as assigned. Assist with medication administration according to program guidelines and training. Use appropriate behavior-management and de-escalation techniques when needed. Respond appropriately to behavioral, medical, or psychiatric concerns and emergencies. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation regarding client status, activities, and participation in the program. Complete required shift notes for each client, including observations of mental and physical status. Keep current information regarding client appointments, activities, destinations, work schedules, departures, and return times. Communicate with clinical or on-call staff when additional support or guidance is needed. Build professional, respectful relationships with individuals experiencing mental health conditions, disabilities, or addiction recovery needs. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe residential environment. Complete assigned housekeeping and food-preparation responsibilities. Qualifications At least one year of experience in mental health, social services, behavioral health, residential care, or a related field . Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during challenging or crisis situations. Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, or substance-use recovery is preferred. Strong communication and observational skills. Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain client confidentiality. Medication administration certification is a plus; willingness to obtain required training or credentials is welcomed. Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
