Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Service Worker in the Lafayette area to support individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to client-centered care, demonstrating expertise in behavioral management, crisis intervention, and medical support. As a vital member of our team, you will deliver personalized assistance that promotes independence, safety, and well-being for those we serve. Responsibilities Provide direct care and support to clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health conditions. Implement behavior intervention plans using applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behaviors. Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, medication administration, and meal preparation. Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and electronic health records (EHR) management standards. Conduct intake assessments and participate in crisis management or de-escalation techniques when necessary to ensure client safety. Support clients during activities that foster social skills, community integration, and skill development. Maintain confidentiality of client information while ensuring proper documentation of medical records and progress notes.

TRANSPORTING CLIENT TO COMMUNITY OUTINGS & APPOINTMENTS.

Skills Experience working with children and individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders. Proficiency in medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, first aid, CPR certification, and medication administration. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques including applied behavior analysis and behavior intervention plans. Ability to utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems effectively while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration within a social work or behavioral health setting. Skilled in data collection, medical documentation, crisis de-escalation techniques, and working with youth or individuals with substance use disorders.
