Job Description

Hours:
8AM 2:15 PM (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Job Functions:
The SSP will be one of the facilitators of an intervention room each day. Students who are in need of academic, emotional, or behavioral support will be sent to this room so the SSP can assist with their needs. The SSP will assist teachers and school staff with implementation of behavior intervention plans. The SSP will be trained and will work on executing de-escalation strategies, helping students develop proactive coping tools, and work with teachers to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. This position will also assist the counselors in implementing mandatory EDP's requirements for middle school students. The SSP will be trained in EDP technology related resources.
Responsibilities:
Takes guidance from the Lead SSP and principal to ensure students are supported. Takes guidance from the counselors and principal to ensure that EDPs are completed. Works closely with students who are at-risk Work directly with students in executing enrichment lessons and academic interventions. Assist in the development of PBIS support structures. Helps test students. Works directly with students in guiding positive behaviors in school. Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required Other academic and behavior support duties as assigned.
