As needed based on program and resident needs Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Associate Professional (AP) to work with children and adolescents in a residential/group home setting. The Associate Professional will provide direct support, skill-building, behavioral guidance, supervision, and coordination of services to promote the safety, stability, and well-being of each child. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or adolescents in a group home, residential treatment, behavioral health, mental health, foster care, child welfare, or other human-services setting . Essential Responsibilities Provide support, supervision, and guidance to children and adolescents in the residential program. Assist children with daily routines, life skills, social skills, educational activities, and community activities. Implement individualized service plans, treatment goals, behavioral support plans, and other assigned interventions. Use positive reinforcement and appropriate redirection to support positive behaviors. Monitor children's emotional, behavioral, and physical well-being. Maintain a safe, structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. Assist with crisis prevention and intervention according to agency policies and approved procedures. Communicate children's needs, progress, concerns, and significant events to supervisors and the treatment team. Complete accurate and timely daily notes, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation. Participate in staff meetings, treatment team meetings, training, and supervision. Work collaboratively with Qualified Professionals, supervisors, clinicians, families, schools, case managers, and other service providers. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Follow all agency policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable North Carolina regulations. Assist with transportation and community activities when assigned and appropriately authorized. Perform other duties related to the care and support of residents as assigned. Required Qualifications Relevant experience working with children or adolescents is required . Experience in a residential/group home, behavioral health, foster care, child welfare, or similar setting is preferred. Must meet applicable North Carolina requirements for an Associate Professional position. High school diploma/GED and/or additional education or experience as required by the position and applicable regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to challenging behaviors or crisis situations. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work the assigned schedule. Must successfully complete required background checks and employment screenings. Must complete required agency training and maintain required certifications. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained as required.
