Primary Role:
The ideal candidate will provide expertise and oversite of TMSA Charter Schools health services. Promote health education because healthy students are successful learners. The school's nurse advocates for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of students.
Qualifications:
CPR/First aid certification Minimum of high school diploma Bachelor's degree preferred
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Friendly and able to interact professionally and positively with staff, students, parents, and community members Perform a critical role within the TMSA Charter Schools health program Address major health problems experienced by staff and children Understand the TMSA Charter School health care plan to ensure coordinated care. Computer skills should include, at a minimum, keyboarding, email, databases, Word, and Excel May serve on IEP or 504 teams if the student has medical needs Provide preventive and screening services, health education, and assistance Provide interventions for acute and chronic illness, injuries and emergencies, communicable diseases, obesity, substance use and abuse, mental health, dental disease, nutrition Assist families and students in finding medical treatment (health insurance programs)
