Then Cone Health Physician Recruitment Consultant RT.Then@ConeHealth.com ______________________________________________________________ The Advanced Practice Provider Psychiatry Care provides specialized care to patients with mental health conditions in collaboration with a psychiatrist(s). The APP assesses patients, interprets diagnostic test/results, and develops and implements treatment plans to address the patient's unique needs in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to work with patients who may have complex mental health needs. Psychiatry Care includes both Inpatient and Outpatient APPs working in Psychiatry/Behavioral Health Medicine. Located at Behavioral Health Unit Crisis Center (BHUC) a 24/7 facility providing timely access to mental health services for children, adolescents and adults presenting in a mental health crisis.
Essential Job Function:
Performs physical assessments of the patient, reviews their medical history, and interprets diagnostic tests/results in order to provide effective treatment for the patient. Conducts preventive health screenings based on the patient's age, history, and unique needs to provide proactive health care. Educates patients and their family about psychiatric medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up. Maintains record of all patient care in order to ensure accurate patient history. Performs psychiatric medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles. Identifies ways to improve psychiatric patient care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Required:
Master's Degree Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.
Experience:
Preferred:
1-3 years as advanced practice provider.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required:
Valid NC RN and NP license or PA-C license.
