Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS) Transcend Behavior Group | Ohio Transcend Behavior Group is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Qualified Behavioral Health Specialists (QBHS) to join our behavioral health team. The QBHS provides direct behavioral health support to children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, including homes, schools, offices, and community-based environments. This position works under the supervision of a licensed independent behavioral health professional and supports the implementation of individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate is committed to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive care and is passionate about helping individuals build skills that improve their quality of life. What You'll Do Provide behavioral support, skill-building, and psychoeducational services based on individualized treatment plans. Implement interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed clinician. Help clients develop coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and daily living skills. Provide support during behavioral or mental health crises in accordance with agency policies and supervisory direction. Assist with crisis and safety planning under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Support clients with connecting to appropriate community resources when clinically indicated. Collaborate with families, schools, child and family teams, and other service providers as authorized. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record within required timeframes. Complete required demographic information, service documentation, and clinical notes in accordance with agency and Medicaid requirements. Maintain strict confidentiality and protect client information in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Attend and actively participate in supervision, team meetings, trainings, and other required agency activities. Provide services in homes, schools, offices, and other approved community settings as medically necessary and authorized. What We're Looking For Meets Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) qualifications for a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist. At least 3 years of behavioral health support experience preferred . Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care. Basic understanding of mental health and substance use disorders. Strong behavioral support and crisis de-escalation skills. Ability to follow and implement treatment interventions developed by a licensed clinician. Strong communication, organization, documentation, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Familiarity with electronic health record systems. Understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality, client rights, and grievance procedures. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation consistent with Ohio BMV requirements. Ability to pass required state and federal background checks. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Important Scope of Practice The QBHS works under the supervision of a licensed independent behavioral health professional. This position does not independently diagnose clients, provide clinical opinions outside the scope of the role, or develop treatment plans without appropriate clinical oversight.
