Our program focuses on preparing residents for adulthood through hands-on learning, positive relationships, and trauma-informed care. We believe in creating an environment that encourages growth, accountability, and self-confidence. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to youth in residential settings. This vital role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment where young individuals can thrive, develop essential life skills, and achieve their personal goals. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, patient and passionate about making a positive impact on young lives. You will work closely with youth, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote well-being, independence, and growth. Responsibilities Provide consistent supervision and positive engagement with youth in the group home. Transport youth to and from school, appointments, work, and family visits using company or personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed if applicable). Assist and teach youth independent living skills such as:
  • Cooking balanced meals
  • Cleaning and organizing living spaces
  • Doing laundry and managing personal hygiene
  • Time management and money management
  • Model appropriate behavior and problem-solving strategies in daily interactions.
  • Use therapeutic skills to support youth during emotional or behavioral challenges, applying trauma-informed approaches.
Maintain detailed and professional documentation, including: Daily progress notes and shift reports Chore and school attendance checklists Critical incident reports Medication logs (after training) Communicate effectively with team members, caseworkers, and supervisors to ensure continuity of care. Assist with the implementation of treatment plans and behavior goals. Create a safe, structured, and supportive home environment where youth can thrive.
Qualifications Required:
Must be 21 years or older Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check and drug screening Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated patience, empathy, and reliability Ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly and professionally
High School Diploma or GED Preferred:
Experience working in a residential, therapeutic, or social service setting Degree or coursework in social work, psychology, education, or human services Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavioral interventions CPR/First Aid and CPI certification (training provided if not certified) Schedule Flexible scheduling available (evening, weekend shifts) Holiday and weekend availability may be required Full-time and part-time positions open
