Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated individuals to serve as Autism Support Interventionists (ASI) and Emotional Support Interventionists (ESI) in Carbon and Lehigh County for the 2026-2027 school year. These specialized roles are crucial for providing hands-on support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and those with emotional or behavioral needs, helping them achieve academic, social, and behavioral goals in structured educational settings.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or a related field preferred; Associate's degree considered with a minimum of one year of relevant experience Background working with children or adolescents with ASD, emotional/behavioral disabilities, ABA, behavioral health, crisis intervention, or special education Strong skills in behavior management and de-escalation within therapeutic or highly structured classrooms Basic proficiency in computer skills for documentation and communication Reliable, professional attitude and collaborative teamwork approach Must submit one completed supervisor reference check

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and group support directly to students with ASD or emotional/behavioral needs Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and assist with personal care as necessary Utilize a variety of evidence-based strategies including visuals, social stories, trauma-informed approaches, and de-escalation techniques Monitor and document behavioral and academic progress for IEPs Respond calmly and effectively during behavioral escalations, ensuring a safe, supportive environment Work collaboratively with teachers, BCBAs, therapists, counselors, and behavior health staff This contract position follows the academic calendar (August 10, 2026 - June 11, 2027) with limited summer hours, transitioning to regular hours in late August. Hours range from 32.5-35 per week, and all interviews are in-person.
