Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior Specialist to join our dynamic team, committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In this role, you will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, conduct comprehensive assessments, and collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will help foster meaningful progress in clients' communication, social skills, and independence while ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment. Duties Develops goals to address behaviors of concern that impact an individual's ability to function successful in the desired or required environments Conducts assessment to determine the function of the behavior to ensure appropriate interventions being implemented Develops behavior support plan to aid in addressing target behaviors identified through assessments Meets with individuals and staff to support goals and objectives from the positive behavior support plan Ongoing training with staff/caregivers to ensure generalization of skills of individual to different caregivers and supports Quarterly data analysis of target behaviors to ensure interventions are appropriate and effective Completes behavior support notes for each client visit and material preparation Supervises client and interview staff regarding daily progress, regression, or irregular behaviors Participates and assists in the development of the individual support plan Completes required paperwork in a timely manner Reports updated information to support coordinator Performs other duties as assigned This is an independent contractor position within Behavior Breakthroughs, LLC. Behavior Specialist will be responsible for maintaining their own insurance, clearances and trainings as required by regulation.
