9685326-19403 Job Description If you have experience supporting students with severe autism and thrive in highly structured, hands-on environments, this contract opportunity might be the perfect fit for your skills. This role involves working with K-12 students exhibiting intensive behavioral and safety needs in special education settings. You'll play a vital part in helping students succeed by providing direct assistance and implementing safety and behavioral interventions. Assignments may be in either high school or elementary classrooms, based on current openings.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year paraprofessional experience in a PreK-12 special education classroom serving students with severe autism and behavioral challenges (must be reflected on your resume). Must reside within 35 minutes of the job location.
Availability for a full-time schedule:
MondayFriday, 7:30 AM3:00 PM or 8:00 AM3:30 PM. Must attend a mandatory orientation week, 8:30 AM 4:30 PM, prior to assignment. Meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, or passing a relevant state/local assessment. (If not currently qualified, certification must be obtained within 60 days of assignment start.) Comfortable with all aspects of direct care, including supporting feeding, toileting, diapering, transfers, and implementing de-escalation and safety measures.
Responsibilities:
Support students with intensive needs in academic, behavioral, and daily living activities. Implement individualized behavior intervention plans and positive behavioral supports. Collaborate with teachers and team members to create a safe, structured learning environment. Provide hands-on assistance including mobility, hygiene, and personal care needs. Why consider this role?
