While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities, and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises. An associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer is hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for an associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester. While the announcement lists this position as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction

The UWSP Department of Geography and Geology is located within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the College of Letters and Science, the largest college within the University. The Department offers majors in Community Sustainability and Geospatial Science, and minors in GIS and Spatial Analysis, Urban Planning, Environmental Geography, and Earth Science. Compensation & Benefits:
The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is a part-time, salaried, exempt, academic year (9-month), instructional academic staff position. Required Qualifications:
Minimum of Master's degree in Geography or related field from an accredited college or university Experience, interest, and commitment to undergraduate teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned Doctorate in Geography Previous teaching experience, with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory physical geography and upper-division GIS courses (with expertise in ArcGIS Pro) Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses
