$20- $25.00 per hour About the Opportunity Established outpatient behavioral health practice in Portland is seeking an Oregon-certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to join our team on a flexible, part-time basis. We are looking for someone who believes strongly in the value of lived experience, recovery-oriented care, and helping individuals build meaningful, sustainable lives in the community. The PSS will work collaboratively with licensed behavioral health clinicians and other members of the treatment team while maintaining the distinct role and perspective of peer-delivered services. Responsibilities Provide individual peer support services within the PSS scope of practice Use lived experience appropriately to support hope, recovery, self-advocacy, and engagement Help individuals identify and work toward self-directed recovery goals Support individuals with navigating community resources and systems when appropriate Promote development of natural and community-based supports Collaborate appropriately with therapists, prescribers, and other members of the behavioral health team Complete timely documentation of peer support services Maintain appropriate professional and peer-support boundaries Participate in required supervision, training, and team coordination Follow applicable OHA, OHP/Medicaid, organizational, confidentiality, and documentation requirements Qualifications Current Oregon Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification Active enrollment/eligibility necessary to provide OHP/Medicaid peer services Strong understanding of peer-support principles and recovery-oriented care Ability to use lived experience appropriately and intentionally within the peer role Strong interpersonal and communication skills Dependable documentation and organizational skills Comfortable collaborating within a multidisciplinary behavioral health environment Experience working with individuals experiencing complex mental health needs is a plus Schedule This is a part-time position with flexibility in scheduling. We are particularly interested in someone who may already be working elsewhere and would like to add additional peer-support hours within an established outpatient behavioral health practice. Hours may grow over time based on individual availability, program needs, and demand for peer-support services.
