- Part-time About Her Well Center Her Well Center is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and other violent crimes.
We are seeking compassionate, dependable individuals who are passionate about making a difference through trauma-informed, survivor-centered care. Position Summary The Resident Advocate helps maintain the safety and security of Samaria House while providing crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, shelter coordination, hotline support, hospital accompaniment, and referrals to community resources. This position works closely with leadership to ensure residents receive compassionate, high-quality care in a safe and supportive environment. As a Resident Advocate, you'll help create a safe and supportive environment for residents at Samaria House by providing: Crisis intervention and emotional support Safety planning and advocacy Shelter coordination and client intakes Hotline response and hospital accompaniment Community referrals and resource navigation Accurate documentation in Apricot Collaboration with leadership and community partners Every shift is an opportunity to help someone take the next step toward healing. Schedule Part-Time (30-36 hours per week) Overnight/Graveyard shift Rotating Saturday coverage required Sunday shift required Local travel for hospital accompaniment as needed Compensation & Training $12.00/hour during paid onboarding and training. Paid onboarding includes orientation, policy review, Apricot documentation training, trauma-informed care training, and Her Well Center's required 40-Hour Advocacy Training . Upon successful completion of onboarding and receipt of the Advocacy Training Certificate, pay increases to $17.00/hour . Overnight shift differential after 11:00 p.m. Semi-monthly payroll. Paid Time Off and paid holidays for eligible employees. Ongoing professional development opportunities. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of onboarding and the required 40-Hour Advocacy Training. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Public Health, or a related field (preferred) One year of experience working with survivors or vulnerable populations (preferred) Successfully pass a criminal background check. Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. Complete the required 40-Hour Advocacy Training. Possess a valid Texas driver's license and maintain insurability. Maintain CPR/First Aid certification (or obtain it during onboarding, if applicable). Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to trauma-informed care standards. The ability to transport clients using an organization vehicle Strong communication and documentation skills Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Primary Responsibilities Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, safety planning, and emotional support. Complete client intakes and documentation in Apricot. Coordinate shelter services and community referrals. Respond to hotline calls and hospital accompaniment requests. Maintain accurate documentation and reports. Collaborate with leadership and community partners. Participate in required meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development. Why Join Her Well?
