Sober Support House Manager (Live In) Irongate Behavioral Health LLC Denton, TX Job Details Full-time | Contract From $3,000 a month 20 hours ago Qualifications Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Live-in employment experience Driver's License Full Job Description Position Summary The Sober Supportive House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an Irongate Behavioral Health recovery residence while fostering a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented living environment. This live-in position provides leadership, accountability, mentorship, and support to residents participating in substance use disorder and mental health recovery. The House Manager serves as a positive role model, promotes accountability, facilitates recovery-focused groups and activities, assists residents with transportation and appointments, enforces house rules, and maintains a clean, organized, and respectful living environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about helping others build healthy, independent lives through structure, consistency, and peer support. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHouse Operations Oversee the day-to-day operation of the recovery residence. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and recovery-focused living environment. Ensure compliance with all house policies and procedures. Conduct routine house inspections. Monitor cleanliness of bedrooms and common areas. Coordinate household chores and responsibilities. Report maintenance concerns promptly. Maintain household supplies and inventory. Resident Support Welcome and orient new residents. Build supportive, professional relationships with residents. Encourage personal responsibility and accountability. Assist residents with developing healthy daily routines. Provide encouragement and emotional support while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Promote positive peer interactions and conflict resolution. Recovery Programming Facilitate daily or weekly recovery groups. Lead house meetings. Facilitate life skills education. Coordinate recovery-focused activities. Encourage participation in counseling, treatment, and recovery meetings. Support residents in achieving treatment goals.
Transportation Transport residents to:
Therapy appointments Medical appointments Employment interviews Employment Recovery meetings (AA, NA, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, etc.) Community resources Approved recreational activities Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Accountability & Recovery Monitoring Enforce curfews and house schedules. Conduct room inspections. Monitor attendance at required meetings. Verify participation in treatment programming. Observe resident behavior and report concerns to clinical staff. Assist with random drug and alcohol testing when assigned. Promote compliance with individualized recovery plans. Rule Enforcement Enforce all house rules consistently and professionally. Address behavioral concerns promptly. Document policy violations. Assist with progressive disciplinary actions when necessary. Maintain a safe environment for all residents. Report emergencies immediately. Documentation Maintain accurate daily house logs. Document resident interactions and incidents. Complete transportation logs. Submit required reports in a timely manner. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Communication Communicate regularly with clinical staff. Participate in treatment team meetings when requested. Coordinate with counselors, case managers, peer support specialists, and program leadership. Notify supervisors of resident concerns, crises, or emergencies. Crisis Response Respond calmly to crises and emergencies. Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques. Contact emergency services when appropriate. Follow agency emergency response procedures. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum age of 21 years. Minimum of one year of continuous recovery from substance use (preferred for peer-model housing). Experience working in behavioral health, recovery services, supportive housing, or human services preferred. Valid Texas Driver License. Reliable driving record. Ability to pass criminal background screening. Ability to pass drug screening. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Qualifications Certified Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS). Certified Peer Specialist (CPS). LCDC, Counselor Intern, or behavioral health experience. Experience facilitating recovery groups. Knowledge of relapse prevention. Knowledge of trauma-informed care. Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Recovery-oriented care. Professional boundaries. Leadership and conflict resolution. Crisis intervention. Motivational interviewing principles. Effective communication. Organization and time management. Problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently. Documentation skills. Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to drive throughout the community. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to respond to emergencies at any time while on duty. Working Conditions This is a live-in position requiring the employee to reside in the assigned supportive housing residence. The House Manager is expected to maintain a visible and supportive presence while balancing scheduled work hours with designated personal time. Housing is provided as part of the compensation package and includes a private bedroom and access to shared common areas. The House Manager is expected to model healthy living, professionalism, and recovery-focused behavior at all times while residing in the home. Core Responsibilities The House Manager will: Foster a culture of recovery, respect, and accountability. Serve as a positive role model for residents. Promote safety, structure, and wellness. Maintain professional boundaries while providing peer encouragement. Support resident independence and personal growth. Ensure compliance with Irongate Behavioral Health policies and house expectations.
