McKinney, TX Job Details Part-time $17.31 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification BLS Certification Employee relationship building High school diploma or GED Full Job Description This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides person-centered, trauma-informed Behavioral Health services in a 24 hour facility. The unit clerk is responsible for providing support services to include clerical, clinical, and technical functions to improve the delivery and quality of individual care and ensure the Crisis Center runs efficiently. This position is expected to be thoroughly familiar with Item V (Crisis Service Standards) of the HHSC Performance Contract and all related Texas Administrative Codes and Health and Safety Codes related to the provision of Crisis Services.
Additionally:
Observe and document Q15 safety checks at each interval in real time. Emotionally support patients, remain calm and professional, and use good interpersonal skills to defuse a volatile situations. Secure individuals personal belongings during admission process. Document all items on the inventory sheet. Observe patients, listen to their concerns, record their observations and report to mental health professionals about any unusual behavior. Competency in checking vital signs with timely documentation in the EHR. Responsible for coordinating admissions. Complete Crisis Center Admission documents with 100 percent accuracy. Answer inbound telephone communications, direct each telephone call the appropriate team member for resolution. Update Census and or bed boards as need to accurately reflect individuals on the CRU and EOU as well as inbound admissions and discharges. Scan medical documentation into the E H R as needed to insure the integrity of medical records for individuals. Displays strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Makes decisions and offers ideas to solve problems based on research, sound clinical judgment, and policy. Identifies, navigates challenges to getting assigned work accomplished. Notifies supervisor when solutions isn't attainable. Encourages collaboration, healthy boundaries and positive relationships within the team. Staff will interact with peers in a positive and encouraging manner. Shares ideas and techniques as well as his/her clinical expertise with team members. Willing to explain and teach information to fellow team members. Sets a positive example of appropriate behavior for other team members, interns and students. All other duties as instructed.
Hiring for shift:
SAT 7AM-7PM
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification) High school diploma or equivalent required; with some college preferred CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant preferred Behavioral Health Tech preferred 1 year experience working in a mental health setting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Great organizational and communication skills Professionalism Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities Clerical responsibilities; answer incoming calls, scanning documentation into EHR CPR certification required SAMA certification required (offered during new hire orientation) Assist Mental Health Technicians Comply with Lifepath Systems policies and procedures Knowledge of person-centered, trauma-informed approaches
